FAQs

Who do you work with?

I work with adults, adolescents, and couples. Areas of focus include relationships and sex, PTSD and trauma, mountain trauma and stress injuries, depression, anxiety, survivors of abuse, grief and loss, gender identity, stress management, and life transitions.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple! Reach out through the contact form on the “Get Started” page or schedule a call, send an email, or text! I’ll follow up with the next steps, availability, and answer any questions you may have.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! I offer a brief 15-minute phone consultation to help determine if we’re a good fit and to answer any initial questions. Finding the right therapist is important! A consultation can help determine whether my approach aligns with your needs. If it’s not a good fit, I’m happy to help with referrals.

What is your fee? / Do you take insurance?

The intake appointment is $310, and subsequent sessions are $275. Yes, I accept several different types of insurnace including BCBS, Aetna, and Medicare. For more information, please visit the “Fees & Insurance” page on the website!

In most cases, couples therapy is not covered by insurance. Clients should expect to pay the full session fee.

Coverage and copays vary based on your individual plan, so I encourage new clients to contact their insurance provider directly before the first appointment to confirm benefits and out-of-pocket costs.

What is your cancellation policy?

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows will be subject to the $275 cancellation fee.

Do you offer Telehealth sessions?

Yes! HIPAA-compliant Telehealth sessions are available upon request.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?

My work is trauma-informed and integrates evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s needs. Therapeutic approaches include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, The Gottman Method, and I am currently working on my Sex Therapy Certification through Sexual Health Alliance. What makes Teton Crest Counseling different?

Teton Crest Counseling is a locally owned private therapy practice rooted in Jackson, Wyoming. Jackson isn’t just where I work, it’s home. I was raised here, shaped by these mountains, schools, families, and this community. I feel truly honored to give back to the place and people who helped shape me.

Being locally rooted allows me to understand the unique realities of life in Jackson. My practice is built with intention, integrity, and a deep commitment to the well-being of the greater Teton community.

What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain reprocess distressing or traumatic experiences so they feel less overwhelming in the present.

EMDR can help with trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, negative core beliefs, and distressing memories. Rather than retelling a story in detail, EMDR helps the nervous system process experiences in a way that reduces emotional intensity and allows for healthier, more adaptive beliefs to emerge.

Sex therapy is a specialized form of talk therapy that supports individuals and couples in addressing concerns related to intimacy, sexuality, and sexual functioning.

Sex therapy views sexuality as a normal and important part of overall health and well-being. It integrates education, trauma-informed care, relational dynamics, and evidence-based interventions to address concerns such as desire discrepancies, pain during sex, arousal challenges, sexual anxiety, shame, or communication around intimacy, and more.

Sex therapy is a safe, professional, and judgment-free space where clients can openly explore concerns that may feel vulnerable or difficult to discuss.

Sex therapy is not physical or hands-on. It is conducted through conversation, education, skill-building, and emotional processing in a safe and professional setting.
